The ATS Consortium will release a new version of their GIS client.
The new version introduces a new technology standard and contains additional features such as:
- Geo search
- Animal Tracing Visualisation
- Mobile support & Full screen Mode
Furthermore, the communication between GIS client and AITS applications is improved significantly. Different context of the AIT application can be visualized by a mouse click in the GIS client. Now it is possible to show the location of selected stakeholders and animals or trace routes of an animal within the GIS client.
Geo search capabilities are introduced to enable data access to the selected map and layers and provide search and find functionalities of geographical entities like stakeholder locations etc.
Heat mapping, which is one way of geographically visualizing locations to show patterns with higher values than the average occurrence likes animal registrations / movements, is now part of the GIS client.

The term heat refers to the concentration of a specific geographic entity (e.g. animal disease outbreaks) within any given location. Hence, different layers provide now heat maps on the animal population and disease outbreaks.
The new release also will provide mobile support for a better usability on mobile phones and a so called full screen mode which is useful to use the whole screen as a canvas for maps and layers.
